Joseph E. Bock, Jr.

Joe Bock is a Morris County attorney who won a Boonton council seat Republicans had written off, and then kept it.

Joe took a Ward 3 seat on the Boonton Board of Aldermen in November 2019, beating the sitting Democrat, William McBride, by about ten points. He won again in 2021 and served three and a half years, stepping down in June 2023 when he moved to Boonton Township and could no longer represent the town.

Ward 3 went Democratic two years later. In November 2025 the Republican who followed him lost it by 18 votes, part of a slide that ran from the Governor's race all the way down to town councils.

He chaired the Boonton Republican Committee from 2018 to 2023, and his own committee members elected him to a second term as chairman — the same kind of vote that picks a county chair.

He went to Hamilton College and Rutgers Law in Newark. He practices property tax and municipal law at Spiotti & Associates in Fairfield, where he's been since January 2020, and he has served as a municipal public defender in Parsippany and Boonton Township.
